The Deputy Leader of Majority Party laid on the Table of the House, five key reports;

1.  Mombasa Investment Corporation Annual Report and Financial Statements for the financial year ended 30th June 2026, which was committed to the committee of trade, tourism & culture.

2. Mombasa County Tourism Council Fund annual report and financial statements for the financial year ended 30th June,2026 committed to the committee on Trade, Tourism & culture.

The County Assembly of Mombasa has scrutinised responses from various County Government departments on critical matters raised by Members, ranging from employment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and ward-based projects to water infrastructure and environmental risks.

County Assembly has approved an overdraft facility with Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Limited to guarantee timely and uninterrupted payment of salaries for County Government staff.

The County Assembly has officially resumed its regular sittings after a short recess, in line with the Assembly Calendar and Standing Order 25(3).

At the opening sitting, Members received a petition from residents of Kipevu Ward, presented through their Community-Based Organization Maendeleo ya Jamii Kipevu, highlighting long-standing concerns over land tenure and title deed issuance.

County Assembly Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Governance has set the tone for the new financial year, outlining priorities aimed at easing congestion, strengthening road safety and ensuring that investment translates into tangible benefits for residents.

The County Assembly of Mombasa has convened a three-day workshop on “Promoting Integrity: The Importance of Conflict of Interest Management in Public Service” for Board Members and Senior Officials.

In his keynote address, Clerk Mr. Salim Juma reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to upholding integrity in the discharge of its mandate.

The workshop was officially opened by EACC Coast Regional Manager Mr. Abdulhamid Low, who shared insights on ethical leadership, accountability and conflict of interest management.

𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Today, the County Assembly Speaker Hon. Aharub Khatri hosted prominent Mombasa advocate Mr. Willis Oluga, who paid a courtesy call on him.

During the visit, Mr. Oluga presented Speaker Aharub  with an autographed copy of his captivating novel, - From The Bar to Behind Bars — a gripping account of an ambitious lawyer whose journey through the corridors of justice and politics takes a dramatic turn.

The Speaker  thanked him for this thoughtful gesture and congratulated him on this remarkable literary achievement.

The Clerk of the County Assembly, Mr. Salim Juma, today led a team from the Assembly in receiving the Assessment Report on Petition Management from Human Rights Agenda (HURIA).

Presenting the report, HURIA Executive Director Mr. Yusuf Lule said the assessment sought to provide a broader picture of the complaints architecture in the Coast region and how it contributes to peace and good governance.
