𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒

The County Assembly of Mombasa resumed its regular sittings following a brief recess that concluded on the third Monday of November 2025, in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 25(3).

During the sitting, the Speaker, Hon. Aharub Khatri, conveyed heartfelt condolences in solemn remembrance of the life and enduring legacy of the Late Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga, CGH, EGH, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya.

“He was a father figure to many, a symbol of resilience, and a towering presence in our nation’s journey. Through his life, he built bridges across communities and generations. Through his words, he reminded us that unity is our greatest inheritance,” the Speaker stated.

Speaker Aharub further called upon Members of the County Assembly to join the nation in expressing profound gratitude for a life devoted to service and sacrifice, one that kept alive the dream of a united, democratic Kenya. He emphasized that it is now our collective responsibility to uphold the values the late statesman championed: democracy, equality, and justice for all Kenyans.

In legislative business, the Speaker reported to the House that the Legislative Proposal for the Mombasa County Revolving Fund Bill, 2025, previously received and committed to the Committee on Labour and Public Service Administration, had been reviewed and confirmed to be in order. The Proposal shall now proceed to pre-publication and advance through the legislative process of the Assembly, pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Orders.
